The resort has beautiful surroundings and offers great food, but the bathrooms are a significant drawback. Additionally, the service is lacking and the facilities need some attention. Overall, it has potential but could use some improvements to be truly enjoyable.

Rooms

The rooms have a lovely balcony with a view over the wetlands, which was a nice touch. However, they feel quite dated and could use some modernization.

Service was inconsistent; there seemed to be a shortage of staff, which made it hard to get timely assistance during our stay.
Location

Located near beautiful scenery, but not particularly close to many local amenities for dining or shopping.
Dining

The restaurant had fantastic food and service, but it wasn’t open for breakfast which was disappointing.

Facilities like the outdoor pool were not well-maintained and the Wi-Fi was practically non-existent.

Our stay was enjoyable thanks to the spacious and comfortable room with a lovely view, but the dining experience was quite disappointing with subpar food and high prices. The outdoor areas could use some attention, making it a less than ideal stay overall.

The room was spacious with a comfortable king-size bed and a lovely view of the lagoon, but overall it felt a bit underwhelming for the price.

Service was lacking, especially at the bar where we had to wait a long time for drinks and the staff seemed overwhelmed.

6.0/10

The hotel has an impressive building and location, being the best in St. Helens, but unfortunately, the service and cleanliness left much to be desired. We faced issues with our dinner and found the price too high for what we received. The experience was further marred by unclean sheets in our room, although the staff did try to remedy this by offering a new room. Overall, while the setting is lovely, they need to seriously improve their service and quality control.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms had a lovely view across the wetlands, but the cleanliness was not up to standard. We experienced issues with hair in the sheets, which was quite unpleasant.
Service
6.0
The service was friendly, but fell short of expectations, particularly regarding addressing the cleanliness issues and the dining experience.
Location
8.0
The hotel is situated in an impressive location, notable for its building and surroundings, but be prepared for a walk to get to most points of interest.
Dining
5.0
Dining was quite disappointing, as the food did not match the expensive prices. The portions were inconsistent based on our experience, and the overall quality was lacking.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities seemed to offer potential, but we couldn't fully utilize them due to our experience with the restaurant being fully booked.

Tidal Waters Resort is a decent place to stay, especially under last-minute circumstances. The location is beautiful, with a lovely view of the inlet and swans, plus it’s conveniently close to shops and restaurants. The staff at reception were gracious and helpful, which made our stay pleasant. However, the rooms feel a bit dated, and while they were clean and tidy, they lacked some modern amenities. The dining experience could be improved, as service was slow and prices were on the higher side. Overall, it's a value-for-money choice if you're looking for a basic stay with nice views.

Rooms
6.0
The room we stayed in was neat and tidy with a great view across the bay, though quite basic. The large balcony added a nice touch, giving us some extra room.
Service
8.0
The lady at reception was very gracious and helpful, assisting us during our last-minute accommodation search.
Location
9.0
The resort is in a fantastic location, right opposite a marshy inlet in the center of St Helens, and just a short walk from local eateries and shops.
Dining
6.0
The restaurant service was slow and the meals felt a bit expensive, but the food itself was good.
Facilities
6.0
The resort offers various facilities including a pool, but we found the pool to be too cold for a comfortable swim.

5.6/10

The Tidal Waters Resort boasts a lovely view over the lake and has a friendly atmosphere, but it really fell short in terms of overall experience. The decor is noticeably old and the service felt rushed, especially regarding dining options. To add to the frustration, the amenities didn’t quite match the price tag, leaving me feeling like I didn’t get my money’s worth.

Rooms
6.0
The room had a nice big bed and a lovely view over the lake, but it felt dated and the walls were quite thin.
Service
5.0
While the staff were friendly, the dining service was disappointing, especially with the restaurant closing early.
Location
8.0
The resort is situated in a picturesque area near the lake, ideal for a quiet getaway, but it doesn't offer much in terms of local dining options if you're not early.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were limited, with the restaurant closing by 8:15 PM, leaving us scrambling for alternatives.
Facilities
5.0
The overall facilities felt outdated and not up to par for the resort offering.
